Banjo promises to be the musical hit of the year, as the trailer is quiet impressive and feature the hidden talent of BANJO artists. However the movie failed to surprise and lacks essence of passion, music and drama.
Story & performances:
Banjo is the journey of rigs to riches for Taraat Bhai (Ritesh Deshmukh) & his friends. Taraat Bhai plays the character of an extortionist and has a musical shade also whereby he performs locally with his friends to earn a living. The movie revolves around Christina (Nargis Fakhri) who is a DJ based in New York, who aspires to create own musical hits and hence arrives mumbai to find a banjo band. Where Christina met Mikey (Luke Kenny), who helps her throughout.
A non-called for love story, few banjo musical songs and a bit of craziness for competitions summarizes BANJO.
A Ritesh deshmukh or Dharmesh Yelande fan will enjoy it and will find it a paisa vasool performances, due to the comical scenes and buzzing music. Apart from it there is nothing much in store.
The music for Banjo is composed by Vishal-Shekhar while the lyrics are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The Music rights are acquired by Eros Now. The first song of the film “Bappa” was released on 18 August 2016. Music of banjo gained popularity before the release, and the only possible reason people will watch the film is because of good music.
